Creating a Personal Roadmap
Understanding and dealing with advanced and metastatic breast cancer involves: quickly learning a lot about breast cancer, including all the words and concepts, finding and understanding your options, and then deciding what is right for you — all during a time of great stress. One way to approach your diagnosis is to create a personal road map. You may want to use the web portal as your personal GPS system and create some road maps that get you to where you want to go. As you navigate the different sections, you can:
- Start with a blank document and copy and paste information on to the page. Number and/or date these documents so that you can refer to them later.
- Print FAQs or other information and take them with you to your doctor's appointment or as a reference when you speak with the nurse, social worker, or other healthcare team member.
- Copy, paste, and print all of this information in whatever way is most helpful to you
